Holiday Break

It has been a while since I sat down here and Blogged. I have been TDY a lot this month and using that as an excuse not to post. As 2008 comes to a close and we look at 2009 many thoughts come to mind. Where to start... As Bob Dillon once said

The Times they are a changin'

That said what are you going to do about it. Some things are out of your control. Other things are a direct result of how you react to the things that are out of your control. So you had a job and now you don't. You had investments and now they are worthless. You had your health and now you don't. It's not about your dreams, goals and ambtions. Its about how you live life! It's not about the hand your dealt its about how you play that hand. The late 1960s was a time of change, the early 70's was a time of double digit inflation, double digit interest rates, gas lines. Today we are experiencing deflation of our money, our jobs our lifestyles. This is the time of our lives. We adapt and change or we keep on doing what we've been doing and perish. You may wonder "Who moved my cheese" don't wonder who moved it. Go find it. It's up to you, remember "The Secret" is action. The universe comes to the assistance of those that are engaged in making a difference. Are you enabling the dreams of others? Yes the times they are a changin' you need to be part of that change. Be proactive, not reactive. Ask you self the question. Is my life making a difference? Are people better off because they know me? Lets make 2009 the best year ever.

Life is what you make it

Just a short blog this evening. The "Cocoa Beach Area Chamber of Commerece" held its monthly mixer tonight "Wednesday Friendsday". The first Wednesday of the month comes along faster and faster every month. Funny thing about time. The more you have the faster it goes. I had many worthwhile conversations with people who I previously knew and with some folks whom I just met. Thats what mixers are for. The thing about a gathering like that is this. It's all about the follow up. There is the potential for business whether it happens or not is up to me. Life is what you make it.

Moving Forward

I was chatting with an acquaintance this evening and the topic came up, she asked me: Do you think I should call them? We were talking about picking up new business. I suggested to her that it was better to be proactive than reactive. That the potential client would be happy to see the she was exhibiting leadership qualities. What might have happened was they were just plain too busy and didn't get around to calling her back. The right thing to do in this situation is to pick up the phone. She said that's not me I'll just wait till they call. Again I stressed be proactive. It goes like this. If you keep doing what you've been doing your going to keep getting what you've been getting. So if you want your future to be better than your past you have to do something different today. Her comfort zone was to wait for them to call. You want change then move out of your comfort zone. We talked about the month of December being slow with everyone thinking about the holidays. So the logical step is to take this time when everyone else is kicking back for the holidays and make the preparations so that you can come on strong in January. Just thoughts on moving forward.

Thanksgiving

What a lot I have to be thankful for, Wonderful loving family and friends, Living in Central Florida. Here's the weather forecast for Thanksgiving Day: Mostly sunny, with a high near 71° for those of you not in the U.S. thats 21.5° C. West northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Not to hot, not too cold. I remember some Thanksgiving days back in New Jersey when it was cold, very cold, very very cold, with a wintry mix. You know Snow, Sleet, Freezing Rain. That's why I live in central Florida. We're watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, a Thanksgiving day tradition, and it looks like the weather in NYC is darn nice. Calm no wind mild temps above freezing. So that's something else to be thankful for. Soon the guests will be arriving for a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner that couldn't be beat. Which reminds me of another Thanksgiving Day tradition listening to "Alice's Restaurant" by "Arlo Guthrie". The underlying theme of Alice's Restaurant is this. If you want things to change you have to get involved. Thats what I got out of it. I just finished listening to it and it's as enjoyable today as it was when I first listened to it. It's quality is timeless like the Christmas classic "Its a Wonderful Life" with Jimmy Stewart, Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore. Alice's Restaurant is truly an American folk music classic. It was written when our country was in a time of change. Today we are also in a time of change. The situation today is not that much different. The future is dependent on us. You can make a difference by being proactive, not reactive. You have to get involved, take action, be responsible for yourself. You can buy into the media and believe that times are tough or you can turn that off, change the people you associate with and begin to make a difference. So just sing a bar of Alice's Restaurant and get on with it. "You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant. Walk right in it's around the back just a half a mile from the railroad track, you can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant". Now we're off for a bike ride before dinner.

Its all about being healthy

I just finished a great weekend with JT Foxx. It was an immersion seminar. We covered alot and went long hours. I talk with people about the value of a good coach and a the value of investing in yourself with continuing education. Remember its what we think we know that keeps us from learning. I went in with an open mind and learned a bunch. Like I was a blank slate. But the best part of this weekend was that I was able to keep up. I wasn't fatiqued and I was able to stay focused. We did a lot of role playing that could have been very stressful. I didn't feel stressed at all and I attribute that to proper nutrition. I asked my self about 10 years ago how I wanted to feel 10 years later. It was then that I made a conscious choice to improve my nutrition and health prospects. What good is success and wealth if your not healthy. Monetary wealth is useless without physical Health. So today I put up a web page that talks about that. Its a new brand for me and one that we will keep growing. PIX HEALTH so go to www.pixhealth.com and see for your self. I talk about a couple of products that make me feel good. So you have to ask your self this. What if it does for you what it did for me? I look and feel great. Do you know anyone who might like to look and feel great too?

Short Sale Training

T Harv Eker author of the Millionaire Mind Intensive says you have to have an education Jar. Today I'm using the contents of that Jar. I'm attending a 3 day boot camp on Foreclosures, How to do Short Sales. I've been with Hunter and Kimberly for over a year now and these 3 Day seminars keep me up to date on the most current trends and laws affecting the Foreclosure industry. Also the networking is great. It's good to see old people, not old people but people who you known for awhile. Sharing ideas and masterminding.

Random thoughts for today.

Man explores the universe around him and calls the adventure science.
Things around us are not always what they seem.
It is what we think we know that keeps us from learning.

I'm studying taking classes right now. I'm doing this to be more effective helping people. The thing about learning new is that you have to take the time to actually learn it. You have to apply the classes. Sometimes it takes time away from what you are working to accomplish. That is ok, the effort will pay off in the long run. You have to do one thing at a time. Do one thing at time for a set time and then do the next thing.

SBA Credit Repair Class at FIT

Well here I am at sitting in a SBA class on Credit repair at Florida Institute of Technology Womans Business Center http://wbc.fit.edu/
The WBC is a great resource for the small business owner. They offer a lot of Classes for no cost and the classes they do charge for are very reasonably priced. That is how I found out about this class on Credit Repair. The instructor is Tom Gallman who is an instructor for the SBA. He's a very knowledgeable in all the programs the SBA offers. Today he's teaching on Credit Repair. There is a lot to it. One must be diligent in watching ones own credit. No one else will. You can get your credit report once a year from each of the 3 credit reporting companies. www.annualcreditreport.com get one every four months. For FREE. No credit score just the report. So the bottom line is check your information. Dispute what you know is wrong. Good credit will help you in life and in your business.

Well here we are starting the blog.
Branding of your business is paramount to your business success.
A blog gives you the opportunity to let people know who you are.
It is not necessarily a vehicle for selling but a vehicle for awareness.
